Completing the magic 12 are Sergio Osmena III, Risa Hontiveros, Ralph Recto, Leila De Lima, Dick Gordon, Manny Pacquiao and Win Gatchalian. Making it to the 13th spot is Joel Villanueva. Around 4,000 respondents nationwide were interviewed face-to-face during the conduct of the survey.
Sotto and Gatchalian are the only two candidates from the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) party who made it to the top twelve. Four candidates (Drilon, Pangilinan, Recto, De Lima) are from the Liberal Party (LP), four are independent candidates (Lacson, Zubiri, Osmena, Gordon), one is from the Akbayan Citizens' Action Party (Hontiveros), and one is from the United Nationalist Alliance (Pacquiao).
Senator Sotto has consistently shown up in the top five senatorial candidates in surveys and polls conducted since last year. If re-elected, it will be his fourth term as a senator of the Republic of the Philippines. Prior to becoming a senator in 1992, Sotto served as Vice-Mayor of Quezon City from 1988 to 1992.
