Sinisian Drowning Accident: 5 People Dead In Drowning Incident In Sinisian, Calaca, Batangas

Five people died while one was injured during a drowning accident that happened in barangay Sinisian in Calaca, Batangas. The incident occurred on Holy Thursday (March 24) at around seven in the evening. According to the Batangas police, the victims were relatives and they were swimming in a portion of the sea that's near a residential area. The place isn't a tourist resort, the Batangas police added.

According to the Batangas police,those who died in the drowning accident were as follows: Lorenz Kyle Boa (11 years old), Jimson Boa (17 years old), Lazaro Boa (20 years old), John Joseph Mendoza (23 years old), Herminigildo De Castro (21 years old).

Initial police investigation showed that Lorenz Kyle Boa was the first to drown. When his companions tried to rescue him, they drowned as well. One of the young men was able to get out of the incident alive. His name is Christian Mark Vergara (15 years old) and he is reportedly recuperating at the Don Juan Mayuga Memorial Hospital in the town of Lemery, also in Batangas.

In related news, two separate cases of drowning were recorded also in Batangas province on Holy Thursday. A 21-year-old kayaker named Jimboy Sanchez died when his kayak flipped over in a portion of the sea at Ilijan, Batangas City.

Also on Holy Thursday, a 46-year-old man named Gilbert Maningas drowned while having a swim at Paseo Verde Beach Resort in Laiya Aplaya in the municipality of San Juan. Maningas is reportedly from Sta. Maria, Bulacan. He was rushed to a hospital but attending physicians declared him dead on arrival.
