Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang Of Davao City Wants To Investigate The UN For Insulting Duterte

A councilor from Davao City is mulling to pass a resolution that will request the Bureau of Immigration to investigate the special rapporteurs from the United Nations who criticized President Rodrigo Duterte's bloody war on illegal drugs. According to Sun Star Davao, a lot of Davao City's councilors took offense on the criticisms lobbed by the rapporteurs towards Duterte. They called the criticisms insulting and embarrassing not only for the President but for the millions of Filipinos who voted for him.

During a council session, Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, who heads the committee on finance, ways, means, and appropriations, said that what the UN rapporteurs did were foul. The councilor added that he was dismayed by the supposed meddling of the UN experts.

"If you question the president without going through protocol, I think it is foul, especially, if the intention has some malice. Why is it they are focusing on the human rights of these criminals and not to the victims?. The problem with these people, they are only good at hitting the president, they do not respect the Philippines." - Danilo Dayanghirang

It can be recalled that the United Nations earned the ire of President Duterte when they criticized his methods in combating illegal drugs in the country. During an early morning press conference, Duterte lashed at the organization, even threatening to leave the organization altogether. He also called the organization useless.
