The Mulawin Versus Ravena Main Cast Finally Revealed By GMA Entertainment

Here's something you should be very excited about if you are a fan of Mulawin, the blockbuster television series that aired on the GMA Network way back in 2004.  No official premier date has been announced yet but it looks like the highly anticipated reboot will be airing this year.

It's worth mentioning here that the network is marketing the new series as a reboot and not a sequel. There's a big difference between the two terms. A sequel picks up where the original series left off. On the other hand, a reboot recreates the characters, timeline, and backstory of the original series. Of course, there will be changes and modifications in the characters and timelines but the direction of the stories remain the same.

In a press conference held just a few days ago, the network announced the composition of the show's main cast. This include Dennis Trillo, Regine Velasquez Alcasid, Miguel Tanfelix, Bianca Umali, Derrick Monasterio, Bea Binene, Dion Ignacio, Chynna Ortaleza Cipriano, Wynwyn Marquez, Kiko Estrada, and Rio Vinzon.

Dennis Trillo and Miguel Tanfelix were also members of the cast in the original series. Tanfelix played a character named Pagaspas while Trillo played a character named Gabriel. It's still unknown if Trillo and Tanfelix will play the same characters in the reboot. It can be recalled that the main protagonist in the original series was portrayed by Richard Gutierrez.

According to Lilybeth Rasonable who is the Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment, Mulawin Versus Ravena will be the Kapuso Network's biggest show for the year. The network is expected to pour a lot of money and other resources into the production alone.

Fans of the series also got a taste of the Mulawin universe when some of the iconic characters were featured in the series Encantadia. Mulawin Versus Ravena will air on the primetime slot on the Kapuso Network. The premier date is yet to be announced.
