Watch The Full Pwera Usog Movie Trailer Starring Devon Seron And Sofia Andres

The full and official movie trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Pwera Usog is now out. Regal Entertainment Inc. released the trailer video today. It can be recalled that the film production company only released a teaser trailer for the film last January. Featuring some of the most promising young actors and actresses in the Philippines today, Pwera Usog is a horror film inspired by a popular Filipino superstition called usog. According to Regal Films, the movie will be released in theaters nationwide on March 8, 2017.

Pwera Usog was written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana. Laxamana is behind the films 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, The Third Party, Mercury Is Mine, Ang Taba Ko Kasi, Love Is Blind, Magkakabaung, U.S.F.A., The SPider's Lair, and Astro Mayabang.

The main cast of Pwera Usog are as follows: Devon Seron, Sofia Andres, Joseph Marco, Kiko Estrada, Cherise Castro, Albie Casino, Aiko Melendez, and Eula Valdez. This film is a major step-up for the young Seron. Although Seron has appeared in mainstream Filipino movies like The Reunion, Halik sa Hangin, Maybe This Time, and Everything About Her, most of these are in supporting roles. For Pwera Usog, Seron is playing one of the main characters.

What is usog?
According to Wikipedia, usog is "a topic in psycho-medicine in Filipino Psychology (but considered just as a Filipino superstition in Western Psychology) where an affliction or psychological disorder is attributed to a greeting by a stranger, or an evil eye hex. It usually affects an unsuspecting child, usually an infant or toddler, who has been greeted by a visitor or a stranger.

In some limited areas, it is said that the condition is also caused by the stranger having an evil eye or masamang mata in Tagalog, lurking around. This may have been influenced by the advent of the Spaniards who long believed in the mal de ojo superstition."
