Journalist Cesar Apolinario Has Passed Away; Cause Of Death Is Cancer

Cesar Apolinario, a long-time broadcast journalist and film director, has passed away on Friday morning (December 13). He was 46 years old. According to friends and acquaintances who were close to the veteran journalist, Apolinario has been in critical condition since Wednesday (December 11) of this week.

Apolinario was diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes) in August of this year.

Apolinario was a long-time news reporter and broadcast journalist on GMA News. Aside from his journalism work, Apolinario also dabbled in film directing. His films include Banal, Puntod, Estasyon, and Dance of the Steel Bars.

His work in television include stints on 24 Oras, Saksi, Reporter's Notebook, and iJuander.

Friends and colleagues of the late journalist expressed their condolences on social media. "Rest in peace, mentor and colleague Cesar Apolinario. No more pain, just love and lasting happiness in the arms of God," tweeted fellow reporter Steve Dailisan.
